Keeping Up With The Pace of Technological Advancement

:: Posted by American Biotechnologist on 04-30-2010

The world is changing at a tremendous pace. Advancements in Biotechnolgy are occuring at break-neck speeds and techniques that we learned just “yesterday” may no longer apply tomorrow. I recently found this video that just blew my mind. The video was posted on youtube several years ago but, rather than go stale, it becomes increasingly more relevant with the passage of time. It contains a myriad of stats that are sure to knock your socks off. For example, did you know that the amount of new technical information is doubling every 2 years which means that for a student starting a 4 year technical degree, half of what they learn in their first year of study will be outdated by their 3rd year of study. So hurry up and get that thesis written. You don’t want it to be irrelevant by the time you graduate!
