3D Biology Game: An Idea Worth Funding

This past summer a group of artists and indie game developers in the Seattle area attempted to develop a super-cool video game that allowed player to explore the inside of a cell as if they were actually inside the 3D structure. Unfortunately, the team was unsuccessful in meeting its funding goal, however, they left a strong impresson on me and I believe that they have a product which can seriously help revitalize the biology classroom.

    This is absolutely amazing! I could seriously use this in the classroom for hands-on activities, perhaps in a laboratory setting for a molecular and cell biology course (high school or lower-level undergraduate). I could see lessons/games at each organelle and quizzes popping up as you move along the filaments. Great job and I hope funding will come your way soon!

    This is a phenomenal idea and I would love to see this funded, as well as a PC version! These are beautiful graphics and as a Biology Instructor, I would absolutely LOVE for my students to be able to see a tour of this cell! Give them $$$ to finish!!!

    I think this is a fantastic idea. The visualization and interaction helps students understand how the organelles and cell functions. It really explains how the proteins travel to the different organelles and their actual location in the cell. They should absolutely receive funding for this program. I would use it in my Biotechnology class.

    What better game for our children to be immersed in. Children are extremely visual. You are thinking ahead of the paradigm. This is the future of learning, it will happen, why not be there first.
